The game tries to be a mixture of 2 kind of games (the old and mighty Heroes III, and the new type of mobile RPG). It doesn't feel like the mixture of both does a great job. (the story line became more boring, the old way of telling the story through exploring the map was way better. The second and more important point is that this game is a lot pay to win. Free to play player doesn't stand a chance when facing p2w player (since you can buyout most of the cool stuff). :( Sadly I loved Heroes III

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know your opinion. Just so you know, you can actually unlock most of the contents and progress in the game without paying. Instead of purchases, strategy and tactic sometimes matter more in Era of Chaos!

I enjoyed the game so much that I decided to purchase a monthly card. After a couple of days I still hadn't received it. Another couple of days and some emails later support verified the purchase. Instead of activating the card they send me what I would have gotten over the month in an in game mail. By doing that I didn't get the extras I was due for that being my first purchase. Being completely fed up at this point I wrote the $10 off as a loss and stopped playing.

The gameplay is great, 5* for that, but the monetization is one of the more aggressive I've seen. The game is incredibly pay to win, and almost every event is at least half pay only (buy x amount of currency type objectives). They even stopped doing the most interesting events after the first two weeks. I really wanted to like this game, but it only seems to be worthwhile if you are willing to drop at minimum a few hundred a month. Edit: keyword is "most," and less than half of each event
